IPConfig is a very useful command prompt command
1. Open Command Prompt
2. In the command Prompt window, there are many things that you can do using ipconfig 3. Type "ipconfig /?" to show all of the available commands 4. Type in "ipconfig" to show your windows IP configuration: IPConfig
5. Type in "ipconfig /release" to disable your internet connections (stop all internet traffic in and out of your PC, via software, the internet cable is still plugged into your computer, but you can not access the internet)

6. If you typed it in correctly, and have not configured it otherwise, you will also see a little icon in the notification area of the task bar (bottom right corner)

7. To Fix the Internet connection that you just disabled, type in "ipconfig /renew" If you typed it in correctly, something similar to this should be displayed in the command prompt window

8. Lastly, you can type in "ipconfig /all" to show you the full TCP/IP configuration for all adapters. IPConfig
